Symbol of development, progress and contemporaneity - but also of vision and imagination - light has always been a key element of Visionnaire's cultural and artistic evolution.
The lighting projects, conceived in collaboration with various artists and designers, have led to the creation of true works of art: a confirmation of the declared path towards Art Design undertaken by the brand.
Once again Visionnaire poses itself as a unique artistic and productive reality in the panorama of Italian design, as it has been able to interpret the rigor of lights of a technical nature with a gaze linked not just to a decorative side, but more profoundly to the artistic world, combining artisan know-how with uniqueness and functionality, vision to reality.
Precious materials, centuries-old crafting techniques, innovation and creativity. Elements that the brand has developed through its peculiar production capacity into a conversation with function and technical characteristics of the product.
During the month of the International Day of Light, Visionnaire retraces the creative process of some lighting projects presented in the last year. Through these projects the brand expresses the intimate link between light, art and culture, enhancing the role of optical technology in the conservation of cultural heritage.
ARACEA
Aracea is an innovative and romantic project that combines the lighting function, using ultraslim LEDs, with a botanical form having subtle, elegant lines.
Aracea, designed by Gupica, is inspired by a liana with large oval and heart-shaped leaves. Delicate and at the same time iconic presence, it is the result of a thought on the natural / artificial dichotomy as a constant / variant of the relationship between man and nature. Natural shapes are simplified until they become the components of a functional object.
The LED light source, like lifeblood, passes through the central rib of the leaf producing a direct lighting also directable, simulating the natural movements of a leaf. The lamp is equipped with a handy dimmer system that allows you to modulate the light intensity in order to ensure visual well-being. Its modularity allows the declination in the models, floor, wall, table, suspension and sky-floor lamp.
CALLIA
Callia, a phytomorphic inspiration project signed by Alessandro La Spada, develops a game of reflections, shadows and unique “chiaroscuri”. The realization of Callia is very delicate and complex.
The natural “leaf”, a distinctive motif of this project, is made by a thin steel sheet that is laser cut and then, with a specific template, is folded and curved at the same time.
Callia creates images and visions on the wall transforming the surrounding space and is the development of the concept of material and immaterial uniqueness. The presence of marble disks enriches the main structure and turns it into a piece of Art, representing the highest expression of Italian savoir-faire.
ROCK
Rock lamps, designed by Alessandro La Spada, are defined by the designer as a therapeutic object. Fragments of onyx, they seem like small icebergs are suspended in the air and supported by a light metal structure. LED modules animate natural stones and activate the observer’s energy resources, instilling a feeling of calm.
The Rock chandelier aims to create a visionary dimension thanks to its irregular but at the same time well-defined shapes, with elements suspended between heaven and earth. Floating clouds or falling meteorites, embraced by a metal bracelet. Light passes through the onyx, highlighting shades, colors and veins. Rock creates an atmosphere of magic and amazement for those who admire it. An oxymoron between shapes, sizes and volumes.
REBEL
The Rebel lighting family, designed by Alessandro La Spada, combines the inspiration of the project in the world of technology with the preciousness of craftsmanship and the uniqueness of a design close to the art's language in a sophisticated way.
Rebel recalls a system of parables and antennas that intercept radio signals and transforms itself into a sculpture composed of precious backlit onyx diffusers obtained from a low thickness plate. Available in a chandelier, wall lamp, table lamp and mirror version, Rebel has a supporting structure in metal tube and conical-shaped steel diffusers containing an LED light system. The diffusers are connected to the central stem by means of tubular arms.
MOON-EYE
Decorative and essential at the same time, this project by Mauro Lipparini has an Asian charm. The name "Moon-Eye" tells its story: a quartzite disc floats delicately inside a slender solid wood structure, and lights up like a breath.
The Moon-Eye family consists of a table lamp, floor lamp and wall lamp with onyx or quartzite diffusers and a supporting structure in open-pore canaletto wood.
Zen inspiration for a piece whose light shapes trigger a contrast with the substance of the materials. Minimal phrasing for exceptional elegance.
SPUTNIK
Sputnik lights family, designed by Draga & Aurel and inspired by retro-futurism, is made with a large-scale brass mesh which underlines the strong link and contamination with the world of Space Age fashion. Travel companion but also famous spacecraft; and again, a propitiatory name that reminds us that it is essential to have big dreams and ask important questions.
The Sputnik lamps are made of multiple rhomboidal parts that produce an “origami” metal composition. Their lines form a fractal motif in which the metal surfaces reflect the light, casting theatrical shadows all around. The artists have been able to develop the concept of contemporary light with clean lines in a decorative way but with a high artistic approach.
FLORO
Floro, designed by Alessandro La Spada, is the result of a dialogue with the fashion world, as these lamps are inspired by the design of American jewelry from the early 1900s. A thin metal bracelet with soft shapes wraps around the luminous “wrist” of the opal glass diffuser with a sandblasted finish, embellished with small inclusions in gold leaf.
This family of lamps is composed by Murano glass capsules divided into two parts and then joined in the central part and present small points of gold obtained by applying a very thin gold foil on the glass when is cooked. During the cooking time the foil disintegrates and disperses itself inside the glass, thus creating a series of gold dots on the surface of the capsule.
Floro is a real jewel light as it embodies precious elements and traditions such as the centuries-old working of Murano glass and gold foil. Design and fashion dialogue in this project, a hymn to Italian craftsmanship.
AKIRA
Nature and the East merge in this product with a decadent nuance. This is how Alessandro La Spada describes his creation: “Akira is the transposition of the ancient Japanese “UCHIWA” fans. Leaves arranged in a radial pattern, supported by slender stems, take on phytomorphic features that seem to dance”.
Akira is a chandelier in which thin brass branches dynamically suspend their petals and LED fireflies illuminate the phytomorphic foliage, enriched with iconic padding and embroidery.
BOREAL
Boreal, designed by Marco Piva, is made up of three different elements.
Bilbo, Kael and Kalgan are ceiling lamps characterized by unusual aesthetic values, creating shapes and compositions defined by the contrast between glass and metal, in a surprising formal synthesis.
The materials and shapes transmit, through their refined combination, preciousness, value and excellence.
FIRENZE – MILANO - ROMA
This family of lamps, designed by Armando Bruno e Alberto Torres, is based on the iconic architectural themes of historic Italian cities. The domes of the cities of Rome and Florence, and the spires of Milan, are the geometric figures combined with marble to narrate the history of art and Italian character.
While the final design is based on forms and features that are precise references to architecture, the workmanship reveals choices that reflect an extremely contemporary language. The use of technologies to lighten the marble, LEDS and methacrylate, and the crafting of the metals generate technologically advanced pieces, but always with the Visionnaire aesthetic. The forms have been interpreted to create a full range of products, offering a total look for spaces of refined interior design.
ALCAZAR
The inspiration for Alcázar, designed by Edoardo Pandolfo e Francesco Palù, comes from two different creative visions and a common idea.
The natural materiality of the Murano glass enhances the intrinsic beauty of the light: reflected, fragmented and recomposed by the imperfections of a material still worked today according to millenary techniques, even in the wake of an incessant experimentation. The artistic Murano glass, circular and sustainable material, is therefore as organic as the light that passes through it: the Alcázar chandelier, with its blown opal diffusers, brings back to the warm light of a mountain twilight or to the icy and bright light of a forest of quartz stalactites.
The particular geometric elements that make up this project are made through Murano artisan blowing and not through a mold, as it might seem. Even when Alcázar is off, a rainbow of lights reverberates through the opal, creating a natural reflection with a magical flavor.
